About

Hi, I’m Stefan.

I’m the person behind Northbound Adventure.

This blog follows my journey toward a dream that has been on my mind for a long time: hiking Norge på langs, the full length of Norway.

For me, this is about more than hiking.

Yes, it’s about the route, the gear, the planning, the training, and one day hopefully standing at the finish after a long journey north. But it’s also about something deeper: doing something that feels real, difficult, and meaningful.

In everyday life, it’s easy to stay in your head. To overthink, delay, and keep big dreams at a safe distance. This project is my way of pushing back against that. It gives me something concrete to work toward — step by step, long before the hike itself even begins.

I’m not an extreme adventurer or someone who has it all figured out. I’m just a regular guy with a full-time job, doubts, responsibilities, and a strong pull toward the idea of heading north and seeing how far I can go.

That’s what this blog is about.

Not just the hike one day, but the entire road leading up to it: the preparation, the setbacks, the motivation, the mental side of it, and the small decisions that slowly turn a dream into a real plan.

I want this space to be honest. Not polished for the sake of appearance, but real. Because big adventures don’t start at the trailhead. They start much earlier — in ordinary life, with the decision to begin.

So whether you’re here because you’re interested in long-distance hiking, planning your own adventure, or simply curious to follow mine, welcome.

I’m glad you’re here.
